Help For Haiti

Help For Haiti

While a distant problem, it is not beyond a local solution. We all have the power and the purse to do what we can to recognize the truly leveling course of events that has the already impoverished Haiti down on its knees.

I will be attending the attached event and hope to see many familiar faces and new ones who understand that community is the basis for all great things. When recognizing and supporting the efforts of our own, we do in fact showcase what is truly wonderful about American and what can begin to develop for Haiti. Phoenix rising from the gift of giving in a devastated region forced to start anew.

Sam on the Scene: Shopping with NBCs Scarboroughs

Talking Tigerlily’s: Sam Shops with NBCS Scarboroughs!

Sam hit the antique scene with antique expert Ellen Scarborough, wife of legendary NBC news anchor Chuck Scarborough. We tagged along at the Greenwich Historical Society’s Antiquarius opening night. From small antiques to large statement items, the Old Greenwich Civic Center was packed with world renowned antique dealers. The Scarboroughs shared inside expert advice on what’s best to buy as a couple and why fundraising for a good cause is so important.

When I am on the Scene, I love to shop! Imagine my glee when I was invited to check out Moffly Media’s At Home Magazine Design District in Westport. From high-end clothing stores to one stop shop interior decorating resources, the chic town of Westport has it all. I got the tips of the trade when I dropped in on decorator Lynne Scalo, HB Homes and many more fabulous spaces.

Sam on the Scene: Light A Fire

Sam’s on the Scene with a spotlight on charity. Moffly Media’s Light A Fire awards ceremony at the Westport Country Playhouse brought out ten outstanding individuals who go the extra mile in Fairfield County to make a difference. Know for his legendary slam-dunk hand, basketball star Allan Houston now lends a hand to those in need. I chatted with friend and honoree to learn see how helping others became a family affair.

I shopped the scene at Moffly Media’s At Home Magazine Design District to see get a taste of what Westport has to offer. The town is a one stop shop for fashion to home furnishings. There is something for everyone, with Lucy’s catering to of-the-moment pieces that make a wardrobe sing and Henry Lehr’s wide selection simplistic comfortable, neutral staples to create a base for your closet.

To add a finishing touch, Lux Bond & Green’s is ground zero. The pieces there range from celebrity must-haves like bangles in brilliant jewel tones to classic pieces in diamond and pearls.
